Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd. has announced the election of Rebecca L. Smith and Matthew A. Long as members of the firm, effective January 1, 2014.

Smith is a native of Medina County and graduated from Highland High School She received her undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She began her career with a regional law firm in Cleveland and joined CCJ in 2010.
Smith focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate, banking, real estate and technology law. She is based in the firm’s Medina offices, is a graduate of Leadership Medina County, and serves on the Board of the American Red Cross of Medina County. She lives in Medina with her husband, Nick Lott, and their son, Smith.
Long is a native of Wooster and works primarily out of the firm’s Wooster office. He is a graduate of Wooster High School, The College of Wooster and the University of Dayton School of Law. He focuses his practice in commercial and residential real estate development, municipal and zoning, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and administration, and corporate law. Long is also responsible for the management of the Wooster office of CCJ’s affiliated title insurance agency, Heartland Title Agency, LLC.
Long serves on the Board of Directors of the Wooster Rotary Club and Great Decisions of Wayne County, Inc. He is President of the Board of the Wayne Center for the Arts and Chair-Elect of Main Street Wooster, Inc. He lives in Wooster with his fiancée, Lynette Mattson, and their dog, Ducky.
