Amanda E. Webber

Overview

Amanda Webber is a seasoned trial attorney with over 25 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials, both criminal and civil. As a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, Amanda focuses her practice on employment and construction-related matters, in addition to will and trust contests. Prior to her current role, Amanda served as an assistant prosecutor for over a decade, gaining extensive experience at both the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office. During her tenure, she handled a wide array of cases, including dependency, neglect, and abuse of children, misdemeanor criminal offenses, and serious felonies including domestic violence, rape, and murder. Drawing from this background, Amanda brings invaluable expertise to her practice, ensuring vigorous representation for her clients in matters ranging from construction and property disputes to employment law and personal injury cases. Passionate about the law and committed to courtroom advocacy, Amanda is dedicated to achieving favorable outcomes for those she represents.

Outside the office

Amanda’s life outside of the office consists of faith, family, and friends. Amanda lives in Wooster, Ohio with her husband Thomas, a veteran police officer, and their blended family of children and pets. Amanda loves the outdoors and can often be found camping, kayaking, or fishing. She also loves the beach and tries to make it down to the gulf side of Florida at least once a year!

Experience

  • Successfully argued Rafal Stachowicz v. Steven W. Moore Building Corp., Ltd., et al., 23CA0010-M (Dec. 21, 2023) in the 9th District Court Appeals, upholding the trial court’s dismissal of Plaintiffs’ Consumer Sales Practices Act (“CSPA”) and Home Solicitation Sales Act (“HSSA”) claims against Defendant because the CSPA and HSSA do not apply to new home construction. New home construction is governed by the Home Construction Service and Supplies Act (“HCSSA”).
  • Following a comprehensive weeklong bench trial, the court adjudged the final will and testament of our client’s mother to be legally valid, designating our client as the exclusive beneficiary of the maternal estate.
  • Successfully secured a favorable jury verdict following a week-long trial in favor of Critchfield’s client, the singular beneficiary of her father’s trust. The verdict affirmed the trust’s validity, concluding that it was established without undue influence or testamentary incapacity.
